![]() Meet Joyce Ketchie Carr
A skillful and empathetic teacher with a special gift for working with young people, Joyce Ketchie Carr has served as HARMONY’s music director since 1996. Ms. Carr has staged and conducted HARMONY performances for some of the finest musical and community service organizations in and beyond Atlanta, including the National Children’s Choir at Carnegie Hall. She has also conducted HARMONY at Symphony Hall for Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Jimmy Carter, at four UNICEF benefit galas, and before Desmond Tutu at a benefit for Africa’s Children’s Fund. In addition, Ms. Carr is the winner of the 2011 John Houston Allen Humanitarian Award, an award presented annually to recognize distinguished achievement and meritorious service by an organization or individual who bridges religious, ethnic and social backgrounds and makes our world a better place. Under her direction, HARMONY singers have performed songs with messages of peace, hope and justice in 40 different languages. |
